Learn               Reflect               Live

For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, so that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.
— Romans 15:4

We come to worship on Sunday mornings and hear a sermon rooted in Scripture. You may never have thought about it, but pastors spend a good deal of time praying for wisdom, studying the weekly passages, exploring commentary on the readings, and developing a message that speaks to the members of the congregation. As I begin my Pastoral Internship, I invite you into the preparation process. No, it won't take hours of dedication on your part. In under 90 seconds, I seek to offer a few questions and discoveries that I believe will help you go deeper in understanding the sermon for the upcoming Sunday. Coming to Sunday's service with a little background knowledge, an awareness of the readings, and a little more prepared to hear the sermon will add to your overall worship experience. Intentionally focusing on our faith challenges us to seek God in our lives for more than just an hour on Sunday. I hope that you will join me in my sermon preparations so that together, we can grow and learn as the body of Christ.
