Sermon - Advent

The voice of one crying out in the wilderness:
“Prepare the way of the Lord,
make his paths straight.
Every valley shall be filled,
and every mountain and hill shall be made low,
and the crooked shall be made straight,
and the rough ways made smooth;
and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.”
— Luke 3:4-6

"Prepare the way of the Lord"...sounds great, but how? Often times in this busy holiday season, we get caught up in preparing our lives for Christmas, we forget to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. In this week's sermon, I make my Christmas list, and with the help of the congregation, check it twice! With some personal stories and practical tips, I hope everyone feels empowered to level mountains, raise up valleys, and make paths straight. For though we walk in darkness, we have the light of Christ. Though we are lost to sin, we have been saved though Christ. This Advent season, we are called to be the light in the darkness of this world. We are the voice calling in the wilderness to those who know not the Way. May the Spirit of God work through this message and bring you peace and hope in preparation for Christmas!
